Biography
Pat Jordan

Actor-Writer-Singer-Director

PAT JORDAN, a professional singer-actor, published writer and director, has appeared in scores of productions, including the Volunteers of America’s Centennial at the Philadelphia Academy of Music and New York’s Cooper Union, the Mask & Wig Club, the Union League’s Lincoln Hall, Walnut Street Studio Stages, and principal roles at the 42nd Street Theatre and the Clurman Theatre in New York. 

Pat’s interest in history has led her to portray Martha Washington at Mt. Vernon, the National Constitution Center, National Portrait Gallery, Library of Congress and Truman Library; Betsy Ross throughout Philadelphia and for the American Flag Association; and Amelia Earhart from Martha’s Vineyard to Virginia.  In 2005, she debuted in a new one-woman play on the life of Clara Barton, and recently presented the life of Louisa May Alcott for the Questers State Conference.  In New Jersey, she presents for the Humanities Council and presents as an historical expert as well as an actor.

The versatile performer delivered the welcoming speech as Deborah Franklin at the University of Pennsylvania’s 1st Annual Benjamin Franklin Leadership Symposium, and most recently, premiered The Women of Washington’s Household at the Independence Visitors’ Center for Welcome America’s 4th of July Celebration and again in 2007 at the Atwater-Kent Museum for Women’s History Month for American Historical Theatre.  The NJ Humanities council has underwritten Pat’s performances as Martha Washington and Amelia Earhart, in which she presents as an historical expert as well as an actor-interpreter.

Musically, Pat enjoys Broadway, big band, music hall, opera, and popular classic genres.  Her husband, Richard, frequently teams with her for Holiday programs as well. In film, she can be seen in principal roles as Larry’s Mom in Lucky Numbers, Molly in Cash Crop, Mom in Wide Awake, and as Sheriff Rufinelli in the film Philadelphia.  Pat is a member of SAG, AFTRA and AEA.

The Wayne resident is in demand as a private teacher of stage performance as well as on-camera acting and musical theatre.  She is also an Artist-in-Education, drama instructor, stage director, and Program Director of the Chester Theatre Arts Outreach Program, a foundation-sponsored youth initiative celebrating its 10th year.  She studied at H-B Studio with Herbert Berghoff and Hal Holden and the Juilliard Opera Workshop with Vincent LaSelva.  Pat holds a BA (cum laude) in Theatre and Communication Arts from Villanova University as well as advanced study in acting, directing and playwriting.

In addition to her busy performance schedule, Pat’s recent credits include writing and directing the adult company productions of Alice in Wonderland, The Emperor & the Nightingale, and Stuff & Nonsense for Darlington Arts’ Professional Children’s Theatre; The Phantom of the Opera Radio Show for MontCo Association for the Blind; Pinocchio: A Children’s Opera for Immaculata University’s Italian Culture Series; and New Year’s Eve at the Opera for First Night Ocean City.  Her books, Every Teacher’s Friend Classroom Plays - Classic Literature for Teens, and Mini-Myths are now available at major online booksellers, with Plays from Around the World due out this year.  She has also written the introductions to "Trifles" and "Oedipus Rex," two new play releases by Drama D'Arts.
